Popular Education: Teaching Economics to Communities

Abstract

The author reflects on her experiences in popular education in economics, including lessons learned, what works, and specific and detailed examples of various popular economics trainings. The latter include a role play to illustrate structural adjustment programs, a jobs pyramid to illustrate the hegemonic structure of work and pay, and utilizing ten chairs to illustrate inequality in wealth.
