Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between exports growth and output growth within the framework of Kaldor-Thirlwall’s regional growth theory. The case study is the economy of Río Negro Province for period 1970-2013. The empirical method applied in this research is regression analysis. The results allow inferring that proxy variable of exports is statistically significant to explain economic growth of Río Negro. In addition, the study shows that economic activities of tourism and fruit complexes have a significant impact on the growth of the product, while the incidence of oil and gas production is lower. Finally, results are analyzed from a comparative perspective with similar works.
