Abstract

Raúl Prebisch ha sido uno de los más importantes y brillantes economistas del desarrollo, que hicieron importantes contribuciones desde el final de la segunda guerra mundial hasta la década de los ochenta. La economía del desarrollo surgió como una rama de la economía, cuando un conjunto de economistas consideró con acierto que las teorías y modelos que se formulaban tenían validez para los países desarrollados pero no para los subdesarrollados. Se trataba, por tanto, de analizar las características concretas que determinaban la naturaleza de estas economías.
