Abstract

(The trend towards projectification of work and organization calls for new demands on the regulation of work and interest representation. Empirical foundation of this article are two studies of the Goettingen based Institute of Social Research (SOFI) in which we investigated the making of contracts by highly qualified employees in R&D projects in the automotive, ICT industries and for the media sector. We develop a contract theoretical approach to address the new regulatory requirements. What is a regulation mode for diverse forms of temporary labor? We expect that the contract system of individualized, results-oriented project work will lead to a revaluation of procedural regulation.)
