Abstract

This study investigates the application of Quantum Learning in teaching English to first-semester sports students at Universitas Negeri Makassar. Quantum Learning emphasizes active participation, experiential learning, and a supportive environment to enhance motivation and classroom engagement. Using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design on a sample of 50 students, the study employed questionnaires, classroom observations, and interviews to assess changes in motivation and participation. Results show significant improvements: motivation increased by 26.4% and participation by 32.0%, supported by classroom observations indicating higher confidence, enthusiasm, and interaction. Students reported that learning became more enjoyable and less stressful. However, variations in language proficiency and resource constraints posed challenges, necessitating differentiated instruction. The findings suggest that Quantum Learning fosters an engaging, student-centered learning environment that aligns with the needs of sports students. Future research should examine its long-term impact, integration with technology, and effects on other language skills.
