Abstract

In this paper, we analyse the dynamics of location within the French agriculture from 1990 to 2006. This analysis is applied to the main agricultural sectors at the department level. We show that spatial dynamics are mainly related to region and not to agricultural sectors. We also show that agglomeration effects may exist between departments, and led to form clusters. The “Grand Ouest” French region is the unique area which benefits from a local positive dynamic for several sectors of production.
