Abstract

Youth unemployment is a significant challenge in Bhutan. Entrepreneurship can be one of the best remedial measures to minimize such issues in Bhutan. The government has implemented initiatives like vocational training to equip young people with necessary skills and knowledge. Despite acquiring these skills, many youths do not consider entrepreneurship as their profession in their career. Therefore, this study investigates the effect of individual factors (age, past job experience, individual interests, and social support) on entrepreneurial intentions among TTI trainees in Khuruthang, Punakha, Bhutan. Today, youth entrepreneurship is increasingly seen as a viable career path. The data from 121 trainees were analyzed using chi-square tests. Results show no significant association between individual factors and entrepreneurial intentions, suggesting the need for broader policy interventions to promote entrepreneurship.
