Abstract

BThe topic of this article was suggested by certain well-known classical theories according to which, in all their fields of activity, including the economic one, believers are also influenced by the religion they belong to. At this stage, I limited myself to the statistical processing and interpretation of empirical field data. I have correlated the subjects’ religious belonging with a series of specific economic indicators such as their income, their profession, the preference for the work in public or private sectors, their availability for starting a business on their own. However, I also took into account the way in which the economic status of these persons can influence their level of religiosity. These are preliminary results, which cannot, at this stage, enable us to draw any conclusions with regard to the influence of religious belonging on economic behavior/outcomes, but which can provide a starting point for certain future studies.
