KOFCASTs: Ein Projektbericht

Author

Abstract

The KOFCASTs project aims to provide macroeconomic short-term forecasts to the public ona daily basis. We provide daily updated forecasts for the Gross Domestic Product of various European countries for the current and coming quarter based on large amounts of data and various forecast models. The current forecasts are then made available to the public on a website, which also shows the forecast change from day to day, the reason for the forecast change and other information. All information about the models, methods and data is made transparent, so that applied forecasters in, e.g., banks, central banks and research institutes, can use the website as an «extended arm» for their work.
