Abstract

TIMS President-Elect Arthur Geoffrion sent in a bundle of update material on the article he coauthored in the January 1974 issue of Management Science. As the Hollywood promoters might say, this is a story so big it takes two issues to hold it. Therefore, this edition of Update covers a public sector application, and the next edition covers a private sector application.
