A Queueing Case Study of Drive-In Banking

Abstract

This case is a summary of the efforts of two students in an Applied Operations Research course taught in the University of Oklahoma School of Industrial Engineering in the fall of 1972. The case involved the effort of a local bank to expand their drive-in facilities. Two options were basically available: a “robo-window” system and a traditional expansion of the current system which involved teller stations approximately 8' by 8' stationed on a traffic lane.
