Role of CI enablers for improving the performance of manufacturing industry of Northern India

Abstract

With the liberalisation and globalisation of today's economy, a lot of pressure has come on the manufacturing organisations in developing countries especially in India to perform better in the coming days. So performance of their manufacturing system processes has to be improved by using key enablers identified from literature of the continuous improvement approach. The present work has been taken up to look into the role of CI enablers and approach towards improving the performance of manufacturing industry of Northern India. CI enablers show both positive and negative potential on manufacturing performance parameters. Results indicated that customer relationship plays a significant role in improving manufacturing performance.
