The Impact of Entrepreneurial Leadership on Employee Turnover Intention through Organizational Commitment

Abstract

This study investigated the impact of entrepreneurial leadership (strategic, communicative, motivational, and personal entrepreneurial leadership) on employee turnover intention through employee organizational commitment (affective, continuous, and normative commitment). The results of the Smart-PLS 4.0 software showed that communicative, motivational, and personal entrepreneurial leadership significantly affect employee turnover intention. The results also reveal that employee affective commitment is significantly affected by strategic and communicative entrepreneurial leadership, employee normative is significantly affected by strategic and motivational entrepreneurial leadership, and employee continuous commitment is significantly affected by all dimensions of entrepreneurial leadership. Finally, it was found that employee continuous commitment is the only significant mediator in the effect of the dimensions of entrepreneurial leadership on employee turnover intention. The study concludes that reducing employee turnover intention is a function of entrepreneurial leadership and employee organizational commitment. This study contributes to the literature by filling the gaps in the literature by investing in the mediating roles of employee affective, continuous, and commitment in the relationships between strategic, communicative, motivational, and personal entrepreneurial leadership.
