Impacto de Total Quality Management en el desempeño organizativo

Abstract

Este trabajo verifica empíricamente el impacto de la adopción de los principios y las prácticas de Total Quality Management en el desempeño organizativo. Se adopta como posicionamiento teórico, la visión dinámica del Enfoque Basado en Competencias, que analiza el modo en el que las organizaciones desarrollan sus capacidades específicas y regeneran sus competencias distintivas. Se construyó el modelo teórico de las relaciones existentes entre las variables y se formularon las hipótesis del estudio. El modelo fue aplicado a empresas del sector servicios y se contrastaron las hipótesis mediante la utilización de modelos de ecuaciones estructurales. Los resultados permiten comprobar que existe una relación positiva en la introducción de TQM y la generación de una serie de competencias distintivas, que,a su vez, promueven mejores resultados empresariales.
