Drohende Altersarmut von Frauen: Welche Jahrgänge besonders betroffen sind

Abstract

"Frauen mittleren Alters sind von Altersarmut wesentlich stärker bedroht als Männer, insbesondere solche mit gebrochenen Erwerbsbiografien. Allerdings existiert ein deutlicher Ost-West-Gegensatz: Während in Westdeutschland vor allem Frauen der Jahrgänge zwischen 1940 und 1960 Altersbezüge unter dem Grundsicherungsniveau zu erwarten haben, ist das Rentenniveau in Ostdeutschland für Frauen aus diesen Jahrgängen deutlich höher. Stärker von Altersarmut bedroht sind hingegen ostdeutsche Frauen, die in den 1960ern geboren wurden." (Autorenreferat, IAB-Doku)
