Abstract

While the development of information and communication technologies brings digital transformation to the agenda, businesses are also digitizing their structures and processes. In this direction, businesses determine various strategies, but technology support alone is not sufficient at the stage of putting their strategies into practice. At this point, the role of the human capital factor is felt at a significant level. While businesses change their structures and ways of doing business, they harmonize the concept of organizational culture with these structures and processes. Considering that this is an adaptation need, organizations need to adopt the new organizational culture and combine it with its elements. The problem of managing digital processes reveals a completely different organizational culture. A successful digital transformation for businesses seems possible with the creation of a digital transformation culture. From this point of view, it is aimed to reveal the mediation effect of digital transformation culture in the relationship between digital transformation strategies and performance in the research. For this purpose, 142 companies in the Fortune 500 Turkey list; a questionnaire was applied to Information Technology (IT) managers or Digital Transformation Directors (CDO-Chief Digital Officer). In the research, findings related to the fact that businesses evaluate digital transformation culture and digital transformation performance at a high level have emerged. According to the results of the research, positive and significant relationships emerged between the digital transformation strategies of businesses and their digital transformation performances. It has been concluded that the digital transformation culture plays a decisive role in these relations.
