Biblioteca digital sobre temas de salud

Abstract

Los antecedentes de las bibliotecas digitales se remontan a los sistemas de recuperación de datos de los años sesenta y a los sistemas de hipertexto de los años ochenta. Se puede decir que las bibliotecas digitales tienen sus orígenes en el hecho de que a los especialistas en información les importaba la recuperación de información a través de bases de datos, y a que después del surgimiento de Internet se logra traspasar las barreras que existían. El acceso a la información ha sido analizado desde distintas disciplinas, entre las que se encuentran la bibliotecología y estudios de la información. Las bibliotecas digitales se han convertido, desde la década de los años 90´, en el paradigma reiterado de los sistemas y servicios bibliotecarios, en virtud del cual se han desarrollado múltiples iniciativas, diversos productos y servicios digitales, así como diversos consorcios de colaboración con el fin de reutilizar y compartir el conocimiento. El presente trabajo se realiza para crear una biblioteca digital sobre temas de salud. Con la creación de la biblioteca digital se logra recopilar y organizar gran cantidad de información existente acerca de temas referentes a la salud. Permite brindar productos y servicios de forma rápida, eficaz y actualizada.
