Abstract

I. Marshall, quien presidió esta sección hace justo cien años, escribió que la economía "no era un cuerpo de verdad concreta sino una máquina para descubrir la verdad concreta". Aunque la máquina es imperfecta y aún no es objeto de mejoras, Marshall tenía toda la razón. La economía aporta un método por el cual los fenómenos complicados y hasta enredados pueden reducirse a sus elementos esenciales y de esa manera entenderse, al menos de modo parcial...
