Nuevas estrategias para la competitividad en la gestión de las cadenas intermodales de transporte entre España y Europa

Abstract

Within the framework of a new enterprise direction towards the client, based upon the supply chain, the present paper purpose is to investigate the creation of logistics platform networks all around Europe, as well as research into the excellent combined use of harbours as goods stop and manipulation spots for different types of transport. Upon the previous antecedents and the current condition of the intermodal transport, this paper develops a set of representative indicators of the multimodal goods transport chains organization. Next, management will be analysed by means of a multivariable analysis technique, the cluster analysis, applied to built indicators and a set of strategies to develop the competitiveness in the intermodal chains of goods transport between Spain and Europe will be suggested.
