Abstract

The Basque administrations have had to adapt their support policies to the business community in order to adjust them to the directives issued by the European Commission. However, the real nightmare that has been generated in this domain is related to the Basque Economic Agreement and, in particular, to the regulatory competence of the Court Councils in the sphere of direct taxes. The main reason does not come from Brussels, but from an unorthodox enforcement of the Treaty rules by the Supreme Court.
