Abstract

This paper presents some evidence of the effects of the implementation of the Infantile Oral Care Program in the Basque Country. I study the effect that the introduction of free public dental care for children have had on the probability of visiting a dentist, the probability of having never visited the dentist and the probability that the last visit was a check-up. I use difference-in-difference methodology, where the changes in Basque Country are compared to changes in other Spanish regions, and a difference-in-difference-in-differences, where also a control group from the Basque Country is included. The results suggest that the program have only affected the probability of visiting.
