Abstract

This paper presents a survey on the theoretical studies of international economic integration and its effects, stressing the contributions based on imperfect competition models. The effects have been classified in the traditional way, i.e., short-run and long-run effects. We also give several examples of empirical studies which use computational techniques in order to quantify the impact of integration.
