Abstract

The paper analyses those elements which arise from the interaction between the Spanish Public Sector performance and its impact on the increase of economic activity. Following a review of the institutional factor influencing economic growth -particularly concentrating on the relevance of the Public Administration''''s role and on its organization-, this article then goes on to the problems presentiy experienced by the Spanish Public Sector in order to effectively control public deficit. Finally, there is a description of the modernization process which is needed in order to solve the problems mentioned above.
