Abstract

The heterogeneity of service activities, together with the very nature of certain of these activities themselves, poses important problems when it comes to defining and measuring services. The aim of this article is to attempt an approach to the concept of services and, especially, to their classification, since this is the real key to understanding the problems of measuring employment and added value, which are discussed in the final part of the study.
