International financial crisis and international capital flow

Abstract

The 1980s financial crisis exposed the vulnerability of the international lendingsystem in place since the 1970s. This article analyses this system, the role of internationalcommercial banks and the perspectives for the Brazilian economy. JEL Classification: F34; H63.
