Abstract

A general mathematical formulation for the age-structured population model with genetic mutations is given. The probability of genetic mutations are expressed by a matrix named the “mutation matrix”. The steady state of the Penna-type models with XOR- and OR-type mutations are analyzed. The mutation matrix of OR-type mutation turns out to be triangular, making an analytic treatment remarkably easier. Results about infinite bit-length limit are included.
