Abstract

Following a brief review of the selection criteria for the various thermal energy storage systems and, in particular, for those techniques which exploit latent, rather than sensible, heat effects, novel systems are described which should, in principle, markedly expand the options available for the rational design of thermal accumulation/redistribution devices.
