Abstract

The university system in Cameroon is based on two main pillars of training: the classic faculty establishments and the higher school. Among them, the Higher Teacher Training College are the most prominent. Cameroon now has four types of these training college; the latest being the Higher Teacher Training College of Bertoua. History Department is one of the first in this institution. Its mission is to train future teachers of History and Geography for high schools and colleges in Cameroon, by providing them knowledge, know-how and life skills. This vocational training is based on a dual theoretical and practical skill. The purpose of this is to improve the integration of learners into general secondary education.
