Geliþmiþ Ülkelerde Çevresel Kuznets Eðrisi Hipotezinin Test Edilmesi: Kyoto Protokolünün Rolü

Abstract

Bu çalýþma, ekonomik büyüme, enerji tüketimi, ticari serbestleþme, kentleþme ve CO2 emisyonu iliþkisini 33 geliþmiþ ülke için 1980-2013 yýllarýný kapsayan dönem için analiz ederek, ekonomik kalkýnma ve çevre iliþkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadýr. Ayrýca, Çevresel Kuznets Eðrisi (ÇKE) hipotezinin geçerliliðini test etmek için kiþi baþý GSYÝH’nýn karesi baðýmsýz deðiþken olarak modele dahil edilmiþtir. Kyoto Protokolünün etkisini incelemek için, 2005 yýlý ve sonrasý kukla deðiþken kullanýlmýþ ve baðýmsýz deðiþken olarak modele dahil edilmiþtir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre bu ülke grubunda ÇKE hipotezi geçerli deðildir. Enerji tüketiminin CO2 emisyonu üzerindeki etkisi pozitif ve istatistiksel olarak anlamlýdýr. Geliþmiþ ülkelerde ticari serbestleþmenin CO2 emisyonu üzerindeki etkisi istatistiki olarak anlamsýzdýr. Bu ülke grubunda kentleþmenin ve Kyoto kukla deðiþkenin katsayýsý negatif iþaretli ve istatistiksel olarak anlamlýdýr.
