Einstellungen zu Geschlechterrollen werden bei Jüngeren in manchen Ländern wieder traditioneller

Abstract

Die Einstellungen zur Rolle von Frauen und Männern in Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft haben sich seit dem Zweiten Weltkrieg in Deutschland und den meisten Ländern der Welt modernisiert. Zuletzt hat sich dieser Prozess jedoch deutlich verlangsamt und mancherorts sogar umgekehrt: In den meisten Ländern sind die Einstellungen der in Befragungen berücksichtigten jüngsten zehn Jahrgänge kaum noch moderner als die der zehn Jahrgänge davor. In etwa einem Drittel der Länder ist der Trend bezogen auf die jüngsten 20 Jahrgänge sogar negativ. Dies deutet darauf hin, dass Einstellungen zu Geschlechterrollen mancherorts wieder traditioneller werden. Die Uneinheitlichkeit in der weltweiten Entwicklung könnte sich verstärken. Selbst in Europa deutet sich in manchen Ländern eine Umkehr an. In Deutschland schreitet die Modernisierung derzeit noch voran, doch dieser Prozess verlangsamt sich und kann möglicherweise auch hierzulande zum Stillstand kommen.
