Stagnation des Personenverkehrs in Deutschland

Abstract

In den 90er Jahren ist die Verkehrsleistung (Personenkilometer) in Deutschland nur noch stark abgeschwächt gestiegen, von 1994 bis 1999 um 4 %. Im Jahre 2000 ergab sich sogar ein Rückgang um gut 2 %. Diese Tendenz setzte sich im vergangenen Jahr fort. Besonders der Pkw-Verkehr nahm ab. Ursache dafür dürften in erster Linie die kräftigen Preiserhöhungen für Kraftstoffe gewesen sein. Der öffentliche Nahverkehr hat im betrachteten Zeitraum seine Fahrgastzahlen annähernd gehalten. Im regionalen Schienenverkehr haben die Angebotsverbesserungen (Taktverkehr, moderne Fahrzeuge) sogar zu zusätzlichen Fahrten geführt.
