La importancia del abordaje académico de la actividad minera durante el periodo de post-acuerdo

Abstract

La minería resulta ser una actividad polémica en el periodo posterior al acuerdo de paz con las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) y se ha caracterizado por la discusión alrededor de distintos aspectos de este entorno, esto, debido a los cuestionamientos frente a la extracción de minerales como parte fundamental del modelo de desarrollo por parte de algunos sectores de la sociedad civil, por sus impactos sociales y ambientales a la reconfiguración de los escenarios de conflicto asociada en muchas ocasiones a actividades extractivas y al interés estratégico alrededor de la explotación del subsuelo colombiano. De esta manera, la reactivación del debate, en torno al papel de la minería en la vida nacional se convierte en una oportunidad para hacer que verdaderamente reporte dividendos a la sociedad, Así mismo, surge el Observatorio Colombiano de Minería (OCMI) en torno a la tesis de que un abordaje científico y académico de las problemáticas asociadas a la minería será posible potenciar sus impactos positivos y minimizar sus impactos negativos
