Abstract

El propósito de este ensayo es presentar un breve informe de los fundamentos teóricos y empíricos que desde la economía y la sociología explican uno de los fenómenos más dinámicos de la realidad socioeconómica actual: la transición demográfica. El método empleado para su elaboración es la revisión bibliográfica de teorías y estudios alusivos a la dinámica poblacional y la transición demográfica. Más que conclusiones, lo que este escrito revela y ratifica son las discusiones, críticas y diversos puntos de vista generados en torno al estudio de los cambios demográficos que dejan ver que en algunos contextos esta temática es un asunto todavía por explorar.
