Los efectos intrafamiliares del bienestar: aplicación de un modelo de estructura de covarianza al caso de Antioquia, 2003

Abstract

Resumen: En este artículo se plantea que el desarrollo de las capacidades de los menores está sujeto a su entorno familiar, de manera que el bienestar del hogar en el espacio de los funcionamientos influye en la salud y educación de los menores. La metodología consiste en la aplicación de un modelo de estructura de covarianza (MEC) al caso de Antioquia-Colombia. Los resultados muestran el impacto positivo de la educación y del bienestar del hogar, el cual incide en la educación y la salud de los menores en edad escolar; el Estado debe propiciar políticas que influyan en el bienestar de las personas, para que éstas tengan más libertad de oportunidades.Abstract: This study suggests that children capabilities are influenced by family surroundings, inducing household well-being in the functioning space of the household to influence health and education levels. The methodology applied in this study follows a Covariance Structure Model and analyzes the case of Antioquia (Colombia). The results suggest positive impacts of education and household well-being, affecting children´s education and health levels. This suggests that the State should encourage policies aimed at improving people´s well-being in order to increase freedom of opportunity.
