El TLC y el sector de las telecomunicaciones en Colombia: panorama actual

Abstract

Resumen: Las economías mundiales han buscado de tiempo atrás realizar acuerdos para el intercambio comercial, buscando eliminar las barreras técnicas al libre comercio. Colombia está en negociaciones para un Tratado de Libre Comercio -TLC- con Estados Unidos. Uno de los temas de discusión son las Telecomunicaciones, industria con importantes externalidadespositivas al desempeno económico. Los actores del sector buscan que el acuerdo garantice condiciones de equidad competitiva frente a nuevos agentes y tecnologías: costos regulatorios, equidad fiscal, entre otras; de manera que la industria cuente con herramientas para competir con altura y sean los usuarios quienes finalmente se beneficien de la competencia.
