Asimetrías de información entre agente y principal de las universidades chilenas

Abstract

Esta investigación busca averiguar si existen asimetrías de información entre los rectores y miembros de los máximos cuerpos colegiados de las universidades chilenas. Conforme al marco que brinda la Teoría de Agencia, en donde el rector funge como agente y el máximo cuerpo colegiado como principal, se presume que esa asimetría existe. Metodológicamente, se recurrió a la aplicación de un cuestionario con preguntas cerradas en donde actores exhibiesen saberes que, supuestamente, son básicos en el abordaje de la gestión directiva. El resultado muestra una confirmación ostensible de la teoría agencista: el agente posee mayor información que un integrante del máximo cuerpo colegiado y si este último es interno, supera en tales saberes a quienes son integrantes externos.
