Den Pflegenotstand nicht zu früh ausrufen!

Abstract

Politik und Öffentlichkeit nehmen die Prognosen zur Entwicklung des künftigen Pflegebedarfs in Deutschland als Faktum wahr. Dabei ist es nicht ausgemacht, dass die Lebenserwartung und mit ihr die Pflegeraten weiterhin steigen. Kommt es zu einer Kompression der Pflegebedürftigkeit in ein immer höheres Alter, entwickelt sich der Pflegebedarf weit weniger dramatisch als es die Prognosen nahelegen. Dennoch muss dem Pflegebauch der Babyboomer Rechnung getragen werden. Deren Kohorten sollten über Beiträge einen hinreichenden Kapitalstock zur Finanzierung ihrer künftigen Pflegekosten aufbauen.
