Abstract

Welchen Einfluss hat Schulbildung auf Unternehmertum? Der Artikel untersucht den langfristigen Einfluss von verpflichtendem Wirtschaftsunterricht im Gymnasium auf das spätere unternehmerische Verhalten im Erwachsenenalter. Das Ergebnis: Die Einführung von Wirtschaftsunterricht in der Schule hat zu einer Erhöhung der Selbständigkeit im Erwachsenenalter um vier Prozentpunkte geführt. Diese Wirkung entfaltet sich jedoch nicht überall gleichermaßen: Entscheidend für einen Anstieg der Selbständigkeit sind individuumszentrierte Lehrpläne, die die Rolle des Individuums und dessen Handlungsmöglichkeiten in der Wirtschaft fokussieren. Die Ergebnisse unterstreichen die Bedeutung früher ökonomischer Bildung zur Förderung von Unternehmertum und zeigen, dass gezielte schulische Interventionen langfristige Verhaltensänderungen bewirken können
