A Quick Look at the Climate: The Coronavirus Crisis and its Impact on the Environment, the Climate, and Energy Prices

Abstract

The restrictions on economic activity and the associated reduction in demand for energy have reduced pollution and thus improved air quality. In addition, global CO2 emissions are expected to fall by 5.5 percent. However, this decrease is not sufficient to meet global climate targets in the long term.
