Der Artikel gibt einen Überblick über aktuelle Zahlen, die sozioökonomischen Eigenschaften der wandernden Bevölkerung sowie die Migrationsgründe und zeigt die Chancen und Herausforderungen auf, mit denen sich Politik und Forschung auf diesem Gebiet konfrontiert sehen.
