Abstract

In professional circles, different sustainability indicators to measure prosperity have been debated for some time. With the “Happy Planet Index”, the New Economics Foundation has released an indicator over the past few years that attempts to describe the situation in different countries with the help of factors such as “average life expectancy”, “life satisfaction” and “ecological footprint”. This article discusses the new indicator.
