Waste disposal: expanding economic activity in the sector

Author

Listed:
  • Johann Wackerbauer

Abstract

After a stagnation during the first half of this decade, turnover in the waste disposal sector increased again in recent years. Rising raw material prices have pushed the demand for secondary raw materials and with it the sectoral development of the waste-disposal industry. After turnover growth of 7 percent in 2007, the member enterprises of the federal association of secondary raw materials and recycling expect 2 percent growth in 2008.
