Eine Anmerkung zum ifo Geschäftsklima im Großhandel

Abstract

Das ifo Institut führt seit 1951 seine Konjunkturumfragen auch im Großhandelsbereich durch. Die Antworten der befragten Großhandelsunternehmen gehen unter anderem in den ifo Geschäftsklimaindex für die gewerbliche Wirtschaft ein. Stellt man den Verlauf des Geschäftsklimas im Großhandelsbereich den Zeitreihen der amtlichen Statistik gegenüber, sieht man, dass das ifo Geschäftsklima ein geeigneter Indikator für die konjunkturelle Entwicklung im Großhandel ist. Es besitzt im Vergleich zu Zahlen der amtlichen Statistik einen "Publikationsvorsprung", d.h. es wird zeitnaher veröffentlicht, und es wird nicht nachträglich revidiert.
