Realeinkommen und Lohnpolitik in den neuen Bundesländern

Abstract

Im Januar 1991 hat sich die Lebenshaltung in den neuen Bundesländern nun erstmals kräftig verteuert (Preissteigerung gegenüber Dezember 1990 um 7,4 %).Maßgeblich für den Preisanstieg zur Jahreswende war das Ingangkommen der zweiten Stufe der Preisreform. Aber trotz dieser Preisreform war die reale Kaufkraft der Einkommen vieler (vollzeitbeschäftigter) Arbeitnehmer in Ostdeutschland im Januar 1991 höher als vor einem Jahr. Die expansive Lohnpolitik hatte aber einen hohen Preis: Sie beeinträchtigt die Überlebensfähigkeit der "alten" Betriebe, verschlechtert die Startchancen für "junge" Unternehmen und vernichtet damit Arbeitsplätze in den neuen Bundesländern.
