Abstract

Im Jahr 2021 wäre Herbert Giersch 100 Jahre alt geworden. Er war einer der prominentesten deutschen Volkswirte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Die weltumspannende Arbeitsteilung der Köpfe hat er vorausgesehen und herbeigewünscht. In diesem Beitrag würdigt ihn sein Schüler Karl-Heinz Paqué, heute Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Internationale Wirtschaft an der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg sowie Vorsitzender der Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit und der gemeinnützigen Herbert-Giersch-Stiftung.
