Bestandskundenwettbewerb in der PKV – Betrachtungen zum Stand der Diskussion

Abstract

Der Autor stellt die Vorschläge der Monopolkommission zur Ausweitung des Wettbewerbs um Bestandskunden in der Privaten Krankenversicherung (PKV) sowie die daran geäußerte Kritik vor und analysiert sie. Es wird deutlich, dass die Übertragbarkeit einer risikogerechten Alterungsrückstellung bei einem Anbieterwechsel Bestandskundenwettbewerb in der PKV ermöglichen würde. Die Befürchtung, dies stelle die nichtwechselnden Bestandskunden schlechter als diejenigen, die vom Wechselrecht Gebrauch machen, erweist sich als wenig begründet.
