La evolución de la deuda pública en España en 2020

Abstract

Esta nota analiza la situación de la deuda de las Administraciones Públicas españolas en el año 2020, que experimentó un aumento extraordinario a consecuencia de la crisis sanitaria provocada por el COVID-19. La deuda pública se incrementó 24,4 puntos porcentuales (pp), hasta el 119,9 % del PIB, debido tanto al aumento del déficit público (por el impacto de los estabilizadores automáticos y de las medidas discrecionales tomadas para combatir la crisis sanitaria) como al descenso del PIB (denominador de la ratio). La vida media de la deuda se mantuvo estable en torno a los siete años y medio, con un peso de los valores del 86,7 % de la deuda total y un incremento de la participación de las tenencias de los sectores residentes de 5 pp (hasta alcanzar el 56,1 %). Por subsectores, la Administración Central siguió siendo el más endeudado, con una ratio de deuda del 107,6 % del PIB. Por su parte, la financiación entre subsectores se incrementó hasta 24,3 pp de PIB.
