Grenzübergreifende Pendlerströme in der Grossregion: Ein Erklärungsversuch

Abstract

Dieser Artikel analysiert die aggregierten Pendlerströme in Grenzregionen von vier aneinandergrenzenden EU Staaten von 1996-2003. Die Entfernung zweier Regionen hat eine signifikant negative Wirkung auf die Anzahl der Pendler. Höhere relative Löhne vergrößern den Ein-Pendlerstrom, während eine höhere relative Arbeitslosenrate zu einem erhöhten Aus-Pendlerstrom führt. Eine gemeinsame Sprache zweier Regionen erhöht die Anzahl der Pendler.
