Abstract

In a scenario of a more intensive competitive pressure on banks, stressed by the combined effect of profit margins’ reduction and larger capital requirements, European banks have started the path of change but with different strategies: in some cases they are operating strong reductions in the physical networks, in others the focus is on technology as an opportunity to increase efficiency and profitability. Technological innovation and profound changes in customers behavior push towards a new and different workforce organization, with solutions oriented to organizational flexibility
