Abstract

Change is ubiquitous and never-ending, and ranges from small to systemic shifts in workplace environments. Despite numerous books, articles and tools designed to prepare professionals to manage change, it is well known that over half of change efforts fail. Rather than focusing on merely ‘managing change’, this paper takes a different perspective, that of teaching the reader to lead through change. By learning how to harness the power of CQ, or change intelligence, readers will discover that it is possible to employ one’s own change leadership style and that of team members to successfully traverse shifting landscapes, and even the earthquakes, that can occur in work environments.
